Sanders -v- Phoenix B – 8 July 2008

What a game but how much hard work did the Sanders girls make for themselves! It paid dividends in the end because they won!

The team consisted of Jo C (GK), consistent as ever, getting some fantastic interceptions and rebounds. Her reading of the balls coming in was spot on and back line passing went to a Sanders player every time. Jo W (GD) - Jo's partner in crime this week – had a great game. She marked the GA out of the D, some excellent teamwork within the D, getting interceptions, calling for the ball, coming out for the centre passes and working well with the centre third girls. Vicki (WD), the third member within the defence team, had an excellent game. Again she was shouting for the ball, marking the WA very tightly and also marking the GA out of the D. She came out for those important centre passes, with some fantastic interceptions as well, working well in the centre third with the other girls. Holly (C) - centre passing was spot on, using all available players, working well in defence where needed and coming back to the attack end to help as well. The balls into the D to Jackie (GS) and Tracey (GA) were fantastic, working well around the with Tracy (WA) who had a superb game, coming out for centre passes, again the throwing into the shooters was spot on, working the ball around the D with Holly so that both Jackie and Tracey could get into position. Holly and Tracy swapped for the second two quarters. The teamwork between both Tracy, Holly, Tracey and Jackie in the attack end was brilliant. Jackie held her space well and also found space up against the tight marking of Phoenix's defence and her shooting was spot on, very well played. There was some good work within the D between the two shooters as well.
